A major preoccupation for me when the usual matters of the day appear to be under control involves plinking away at my latest book. I gave it the tentative title Newswriting for quite a while, but am switching over to Discovering Belwah until something better comes along. ”Belwah” is the whimsical name of Beloit for many of us in this part of the world. The word is emblazoned across the roof of a large building on campus and ”Cafe Belwah” was a natural choice for the name of a restaurant located in a hotel downtown.

While I now know the overall structure of its ending, I still have detail to fill in … and you know that character who resides in the details. He has stayed off my back for the most part … so far.
